about
my Me
Some know me as Paul, others know me as Tunnleram, which is a high performance intake manifold for all you non-motor-heads out there, but regardless of who you know me as, I’m one in the same.
my Occupation
I started out of school as a mechanic and worked in a couple of shops over a three to four year period. As most of us I then had a few “between” jobs doing everything from lumber jacking to shopping cart pushing to ditch digging to installing lighting and electrical for pools. With a nudge from a good friend I fell into the computer, went to college and have been enjoying myself ever since.
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some great companies covering industries such as insurance, law, medical and pharmaceutical, manufacturing and currently software development. The positions I’ve held throughout my career have given me a well-rounded perspective on providing service in the IT industry and I continue to expand every day.
Currently I’m the Director of Technical Services at a software development company called Alloy Software creating very scalable service/asset management software.
my Distraction
Creation has always been my first love. Whether it’s been music or writing or game design I’ve always enjoyed the feeling of creating something, especially when that something could be enjoyed by others.
With music, I started playing guitar seriously at the age of 14. I say seriously only because I don’t count the ages of 5-9 playing my plastic Kiss guitar. Later on I began to sing, play bass, piano and drums (a little), but out of the many bands I was a part of none of them seemed to work out. Since my last band, I’ve written music for myself and one or two very close friends.
Game design is a truly fun and exciting, yet a time consuming distraction. I’ve had the fortune of leading some great teams on some great projects. More notably CRASH Squad and DeGeneration which had acknowledgements from a wide range of publications including PC Gamer, Computer Gaming World and PC Zone along with nice words from key industry individuals. Throughout my projects I’ve been approached by several talented design shops, but never wound up making the move from distraction to occupation.
Last, but not least, is writing which I’ve done for a while now. Poetry mainly, but some short stories as well. Several of my works have been published across the internet in various places and have been well accepted by readers.
