Well, it seems that Trevor’s brother Garry liked the first attempt I made for his Australian backpacking type video and used it for his project without any changes. I have to ask him for a copy of the video so I can see how it turned out. Since he apparently liked what I gave him, he asked me to work on another project now which is a little more difficult and for a paying customer. The task is to take the older style theme song of an Australian tavern slash resturant slash sports club, called the Blacktown Workers Club and modernize it a bit for a video Garry will be making for them. I warn you it’s not spectacular to listen to lol…
Paul Ille - Black Town Workers…The song seems to be a copy of I’ve been working on the railroad but with different words. I guess that was the popular music for the time. At the present I suppose we do the same thing. Everyone seems to just sample music, talk over it and make G money yo.
Anywhos, I don’t think the job to make the video is secured yet and I’m also being asked to come up with how much to charge for doing the music when he gets the go ahead. That’s somewhat challenging for me to do since I’ve never been paid for music before and certainly not for music created for a video. I’ll probably just ask for a percentage so it’ll be fair for everyone involved.
Garry’s looking for two variations, one faster and rockin and another slower about half the speed. Unfortunately due to the fact that Bella partially ruined my trusty, most wonderful and magical old computer microphone things have been somewhat delayed. Also after replacing my sound card with the Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi, I’m not so happy with the sound I’m getting. It comes out a bit tinny for my liking. Maybe I’m not used to it.
So yesterday I went out and picked up a new computer mic, but I should’ve known not to get it since it’s an omni-directional mic so it picks up too much crap in the background. I need to pickup something more directional so it cuts down on the background noise a bit. Unfortunately CompUSA didn’t have much selection which is why I got it. You can see the one I got in the picture below.

So here’s my first attempt at the slower paced one. The recording isn’t so great, but it works for proof of concept. If this job goes forward I’ll do this recording in the studio. I have a feeling the rockin version will be more difficult to do. I wonder if I should pick up a guitar slide. I know I have one around here somewhere, but I can’t find the darn thing!

I posted 4 new pictures of Bella from earlier in the month. You can find them in the gallery as 20-24 in the Bella section. If you’re unsure how to get to the Bella section? The viewer isn’t always so intuitive. Go to the picture viewer and then click on the button in the picture below:

Then pick whatever gallery you want to view!

Here’s my first attempt at some backpackin’ hikin’ through the outback type music. It’s not much. Just something very simple to intro the piece. I’m not going to continue messing with this until I get clarification on exactly what it is that’s needed though.

I was having a conversation with my good friend Trevor…
Codey: oh, I was showing the family your songs
Codey: they are really impessed
Codey: which is to be expected
Codey: my brother we particularly impressed with your songs
Codey: he wanted to know, if you wanted to do it..
Codey: he works alot of doing video advertisements and compilations for clubs etc
Codey: was wondering if you could do something like “sweet home alabama”, just in that sorta style for one of his vids
Tunnleram: oh
Tunnleram: hmm don’t see why not
Codey: it’s for a outback travelling video he’s made, he needs a backing track
Codey: not a copy of the song.. but some sorta traveling music like that
Gonna see what I can whip up

Moved
I strain to find the words to describe how you complete me
I take your heart at full force
Dropping dance and lyrics in throughout my life
With smiles dangling from everything I feel
For miles past where I only hoped I’d reach

But it’s ok
I am the curl in my toes as I stretch it out
I feel tightened like a band, yet elastic like my change somehow
And tough as the nails they put in my hands to stop me now
To stop me from getting where I want to be as if I knew somehow
But it’s ok
As I wrench into frenzy with no reason for it now
And I sit wondering where it waits to hold me down
That one thing I need to make me complete for everything
As if I knew what it was, what it was, what it was, what it is
And it’s ok
Easy I think
Patience winds up inside my veins
My hope is as high as hope has been
I spread out my arms in welcome, in turn
Yet elastic like my change
And in comes what I know to be
And I begin to know what is sometimes
And it’s ok
Easy I am
Flooded through with kind love
Engine block runs hot again and I stand
To jump with all my might in the air
There’s a reason for it
And it comes into my life with a rip
And I now know how to understand everything
